Description

A new car is only truly exciting in Forza Horizon 6 when you have a reason to drive it. A fast coupe that feels ordinary on a circuit might become fantastic on a winding Touge route, while an old muscle car that struggles with traction can become a surprisingly entertaining low-class racer after a few careful upgrades. The latest Horizon Meets update is a perfect excuse to experiment because it adds new Festival Playlist rewards, more Spec Racing options, a Treasure Car, and 200 additional Horizon Play levels. With enough Forza Horizon 6 Credits, you can build several cars around completely different driving styles instead of making every vehicle follow the same upgrade path.

The October Festival Playlist starts on October 8 and runs through November 5. Its headline new car is the 2025 BMW M4 CS, which requires 80 points across the series, while the first weekly reward is the 2000 Honda Prelude Type SH at 20 points from October 8 to October 15. Later weeks bring the 2018 DeBerti Ford Mustang GT, 2004 Saleen S7, and 1968 Holden Monaro GTS 327. The series also has a long-term 1973 Lamborghini Espada 400 GT reward at 1,100 accumulated points.

The M4 CS is an interesting car to approach without immediately modifying it. Its stock S1 733 setup produces 543 horsepower and 479 lb-ft of torque through AWD, so there is already plenty of acceleration available. Take it onto a technical road first and find out what it actually needs. If you can already exit corners cleanly but struggle to stop the car consistently, spend your upgrade budget on braking and tire performance instead of adding more power. The best tunes often come from solving a specific problem rather than trying to make every number larger.

The Prelude Type SH offers a completely different experience. Its C 455 stock rating, 200 horsepower, and FWD layout make it a great platform for practicing momentum. It is especially useful if you normally drive powerful AWD cars and have developed the habit of using acceleration to cover mistakes. In the Prelude, entering a corner too quickly becomes obvious almost immediately. The front tires run out of grip, the car pushes wide, and suddenly that supposedly easy bend becomes a lesson in patience. The Type SH’s Super Handling system also gives it an interesting foundation for future grip or drift builds.

Try taking the Prelude onto a mountain route at night and deliberately avoid chasing a perfect lap time. Instead, choose three corners and practice them repeatedly. Brake at the same landmark, release the brake smoothly, turn once, and gradually add throttle as the steering opens. Once the sequence becomes consistent, move the braking point slightly later. This approach is much more effective than changing five tuning settings after every failed corner because you can actually tell whether your driving improved.

The new Spec Racing additions make this kind of comparison even more enjoyable. The October update adds the 2019 Ginetta G40 Junior, 2020 Lamborghini Essenza SCV12, 1990 Alfa Romeo SE 048SP, 1992 Mazda RX-7 Type R, 2008 Mazda Furai, 2023 Audi R8 Coupé V10 GT RWD, 1987 Ferrari F40, 2017 Saleen S7 LM, 1967 Ferrari 330 P4, and 1990 Nissan Skyline GT-R race car. Several DLC cars can also be experienced through Spec Racing without owning their respective DLC, so the mode works almost like a free test drive for unfamiliar machinery.

That is particularly useful when choosing a car for Time Attack. A vehicle may look incredible in a Car Meet but reveal serious weaknesses once you drive the same circuit repeatedly. Watch how quickly it settles after braking, how much steering correction is required through medium-speed corners, and whether the tires can handle early throttle. If the car feels nervous, do not immediately blame the suspension. Sometimes the problem is simply that you are carrying too much entry speed.

Drag Meets require another mindset entirely. If you build a car for straight-line racing, launch behavior and gearing become much more important than cornering balance. A huge horsepower figure means very little if the rear tires spend the first few seconds fighting for traction. Try adjusting the first two or three gears before adding another major power upgrade. A slightly calmer launch that keeps the engine in its useful range can produce a quicker run than a spectacular cloud of tire smoke.

The new Edamame Circuit is another useful place to experiment. It has been added to Horizon Drift across all PI classes, Spec Racing in B and C class, and Horizon Racing in B class. That makes it particularly interesting for players who normally live in S1 or S2. B-class racing removes some of the raw acceleration that can hide mistakes and forces you to think about positioning. If you miss an apex, you cannot simply hammer the throttle and expect the car to erase the lost time.

Drift Attack remains available as a permanent activity at Shimanoyama Circuit, and the latest update fixed t
